 Founded in 1902 as one of the first three national universities in China, Taiyuan University of Technology (TYUT) is the first university in Shanxi province that was selected as a national Double First-class key construction university. TYUT focuses on engineering, integrates engineering with science, and promotes the coordinated development of a multitude of disciplines including science, engineering, economics, law, pedagogy, literature, management, and arts. TYUT’s 24 colleges are open to international student.

TYUT’s international student education began in the early 1980s, and has formed a multi-level and multi-category education system that includes formal degree full-time education at undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate levels, pre-degree education in language, research scholars, and cultural experiencing.  Starting from 2024, TYUT will launch graded program courses in Chinese language training, to meet the students’ multi-level need ranging from HSK3 to HSK6.

TYUT passed the Quality Accreditation on Higher Education of International Students Studying in China in 2018. Over 2,000 international students from 100+ countries and regions have come to study at TYUT, representing a leading cultivation capacity province-wide.

TYUT offers 84 undergraduate programs, with 34 master’s degree programs(first-level disciplines), 15 doctoral degree programs(first-level disciplines), 15 post-doctoral research stations, and 14 authorized professional degree awarding programs. TYUT boasts 3 national key disciplines, 4 national experimental teaching demonstration centers, 5 national featured programs,  7 national engineering practice education centers, 1 state key laboratory base jointly built by Shanxi Province and the Ministry of Science and Technology, and 4 key laboratories of the Ministry of Education. TYUT’s engineering science, materials science, and chemistry are among the ESI’s global top 1%.

Application process

You need to introduce yourself to him and obtain an invitation letter and admission interview form  from him.

II. Read the International Student Enrollment brochure of Taiyuan University of Technology carefully.

III.Visit the recuitement portal of Taiyuan University of Technology to complete the registration and start to fill in the application.         Registration guide   

Reupload your application materials which we need .  If you choose the English-taught majors please provid the  English test certificate (such as IELTS with a minimum score of 6.5 or Duolingo with a minimum score of 110 points).

IV.Please ensure that your physical examination time is within 6 months before the date of application. Please download both forms : I. foreigner physical examination form .  II.Health instructions and commitments , scan and upload it to the location of the physical examination report after your signature.

V. When you receive our email asking you to pay the registration fee, please pay the registration fee within one week. Please indicate your application number and remittance purpose in the remittance instruction. After the successful payment of registration fee, please upload the payment screenshot to the system.The admission officer will issue a pre-amdission letter to you after the payment of your registration.

VI.After the admissions officer has completed the students' entry application, you will receive both the JW202 form and the formal admission notice. The admission notice will specify the type and level of scholarship that you have been awarded.
